Our Lady of Vietnam Parish ("the Parish", "we", "us", or "our") is a non-profit religious organization. You voluntarily provide your phone number when you sign up to receive notifications and information from the Parish. This is the only information required to register for updates.

2.2. Donation information

When you make a donation, we store the donation amount, your phone number, and your message (if you choose to add one).

Important — card and bank details: All payment processing (credit card numbers, bank details) is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc., a reputable payment service provider. Our website and app do not store and never see your card information.

2.3. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your location.
  • We do not collect your contacts / address book.
  • We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Phone number: to send messages, notifications, and information about parish activities. Not used for advertising and never shared with third parties.
  • Donation information (amount, phone number, message): to record and confirm your donation, to thank or contact you when necessary, and to maintain the Parish's financial records.

4. Sharing Data With Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone for commercial or advertising purposes. We share data with only one third party, and solely for the purpose of processing payments:

  • Stripe, Inc. — our payment service provider, which processes your card information and donation transactions. Stripe's collection and use of data are governed by its own policy. Please see: Stripe Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

  • Registered phone numbers: kept until you request deletion or unsubscribe. Once we receive your request, we will delete the number within a reasonable time.
  • Donation information: kept for as long as necessary for record-keeping and to meet the financial and accounting obligations of a non-profit organization under United States law.

When data is no longer needed for the purposes above, we will delete or anonymize it.

6. Your Rights

  • Request deletion of your registered phone number (unsubscribe from notifications).
  • Request a review of the data you have provided to us.
  • Request correction of your information if it is inaccurate.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 9. We will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Data Security

  • Encryption in transit: all data exchanged between your device and our systems is transmitted over a secure HTTPS connection.
  • No card data stored: we never store your card numbers or bank details; this is handled by Stripe under its own security standards.

While we work to protect your data, please be aware that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in accordance with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we discover that we have unintentionally collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it as soon as possible.
